CaptureProof Privacy Policy

CaptureProof does not collect, store, transmit or share any data.

• The extension makes no network requests of any kind.
• Screenshots, hashes and metadata are generated locally in your browser and saved only to your own computer as a file you control.
• There are no accounts, no analytics, no cookies, no tracking and no servers.
• The extension activates only when you click it and can only access the tab you choose to capture.

Because no data is collected, there is no data to sell, share or delete. If this policy ever changes, the extension update will require new permissions and this policy will be updated first.

Permissions explained

• activeTab — lets CaptureProof take a screenshot of the page you are viewing, and read that tab's URL and title for the evidence metadata. Granted only at the moment you click the extension.
• downloads — lets CaptureProof save the finished evidence bundle (a ZIP file) to your Downloads folder. This is the extension's only output.
