How the Bonus Value Calculator Works
Every welcome bonus has a headline number and a real number, and they’re rarely the same. This tool works out the real one — the expected value (EV) left once the wagering, game contribution, free-spin value and any max-cashout cap are accounted for — then discounts it by how likely you are to actually clear it.
What it factors in
- Bonus amount — your deposit × the match %, capped at the max bonus.
- Wagering turnover — how much you must bet to unlock winnings, adjusted for game contribution (slots usually 100%, table games far less).
- Expected house-edge loss — at a 96% RTP, the house keeps ~4% of everything you turn over. Big wagering means a big expected loss before you ever cash out.
- Free spins — valued at a nominal ~€0.10 per spin.
- Max cashout — a cap on what you can keep, which quietly kills the value of many “huge” bonuses.
The bit most calculators skip: can you actually clear it?
A bonus can look positive on paper but be nearly impossible to complete. Our clear-through estimate compares the expected house-edge loss over the full wagering turnover against the money you actually have to play with (deposit + bonus). When that expected loss approaches or exceeds your balance, most players bust before finishing the rollover — so the tool marks the offer down accordingly.
Reading the grade
- A / B (positive EV) — fair wagering, real value. These tend to score well in our rating system too.
- C (neutral) — fine, not exceptional.
- D / F (negative EV) — high wagering, low contribution or a tight cashout cap make it mathematically poor.
